8:19 p.m. - 2003-12-28 (started 12/28/03) I'll be adding to this list periodically. I wanted to start it today because of one of the Christmas presents I received: "The VICE Guide to Sex, Drugs and Rock'n'Roll." I had never heard of VICE magazine, but I saw this book at Barnes and Noble one day and put it on my Christmas Wish List. Santa was very good to me this year and I was pleased to find this under the tree. Husband and I have had the best time reading it the last few days. It's extremely politically incorrect and downright nasty in a few places. There's something in there guaranteed to offend EVERYBODY, but oh my God! So FUCKING FUNNY!!!! (Look at it on Amazon and you'll see why!) Anyway, they had a list of guilty pleasures in the book that were funny, although most of them would not be on the list I would make. So here's my list, to start: 1) "The VICE Guide to Sex, Drugs and Rock'n'Roll" 2) Justin Timberlake 3) Movie: "The Cutting Edge" 4) Movie: "Urban Cowboy" 5) Movie: "Fame" (and also CD: "Fame" soundtrack) 6) fashion magazines that feature only skinny models and outrageously priced clothing and make-up that I'll never be able to afford/fit into/wear 7) ogling teenage boys 8) fantasizing about that cute bartender at my favorite bar (T.--you know the one, with the nice teeth!) 9) getting drunk on weeknights when I know I'll pay for it the next day at work, but don't care 10) FUCK as a swear word, in every possible usage of the word 11) disco music 12) hagging for my fags (less necessary now that most of them are settled w/ boyfriends) 13) Dove Dark Promises 14) making a meal with the intention of taking leftovers to work the next day for lunch, but eating it ALL in one sitting because it tastes so good 15) chili cheese fries from Sonic 16) Double Butterburgers w/ cheese from Culver's 17) Dulce Con Leche Desire ice cream from Coldstone Creamery 18) re-reading YA books I loved as a kid: "A Wrinkle in Time," "The Chocolate War," etc. 19) pretending I have plans or not answering my phone when I get invited to do something but really just want to stay home by myself and read/watch movies, etc. 20) flaunting my massive cleavage (really, I don't feel TOO guilty about this one. if I have to lug these things around all day, it's only fair that they do a little work for me from time to time, get me some extra attention, etc.) 21) doing that special hip-shaking/boob-bouncing walk that all girls and women know how to do, if an attractive man is in the area to watch 23) "Googling" or doing internet searches for old classmates and gloating when you don't find anything spectacular on them, or when you DO find something terrible about them. even though you like to claim you don't give a damn and are above that sort of thing. which you absolutely are! (12/29/03) 24) Listening to Gossip. I try very hard not to gossip at work about anybody but our own little porn star, but sometimes a little tidbit comes my way that is just soooo juicy. I do my best to just listen/hear and not spread it further. But sometimes it's a real struggle! (1/13/04) 25) Spending all afternoon on Sundays reading movies, taking naps, and eating sunflower seeds (5/2/04) 26) Throwing away or setting aside hair care products that I bought (and sometimes paid a lot of money for) because I get bored with their fragrance, or simply can't wait to finish them before I try the newest, latest miracle product (5/2/04)
